FedHR Tools works like an app on your phone, tablet or computer. You get its own icon and its own window, with no app store, no account and nothing to update.

Your device

iPhone or iPad

  1. Open fedhrtools.com in Safari.
  2. Tap the Share button, the square with an arrow. On newer iPhones it can sit behind the ••• button.
  3. Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen.
  4. Leave Open as Web App turned on if you see it, then tap Add.

Chrome on iPhone works too: use its Share button, then Add to Home Screen.

Your device

Android phone or tablet

  1. Open fedhrtools.com in Chrome.
  2. Tap the ⋮ menu at the top right.
  3. Tap Add to Home screen. On some phones this says Install app.
  4. Confirm with Install or Add.

Windows, Mac or Chromebook, in Chrome or Edge

  1. Open fedhrtools.com.
  2. Click the install icon at the right end of the address bar.
  3. Click Install. FedHR Tools opens in its own window, and you can pin it to your taskbar or Dock.

No icon? Open the browser’s menu and look for an option to install the page or site as an app.

Mac, in Safari

  1. Open fedhrtools.com in Safari.
  2. Choose File, then Add to Dock.
  3. Click Add. It needs macOS Sonoma or later.

Does it work offline?

No. The app opens the live site, which is how it always has the current pay tables, so it needs an internet connection.

What about a work computer?

Agencies often restrict installs on government equipment. If yours blocks it, a bookmark gets you to the same place.

I use Firefox. Can I install it?

Firefox on a computer doesn’t offer this everywhere. Use Chrome, Edge or Safari for this step.

How do I remove it?

Delete it like any other app. Nothing is stored in it, so there’s nothing else to clean up.
